paper is dedicated to Professor Simon Gogitidze (1872-1927), prominent
Georgian pediatrician, founder of the first academic pediatric department
in Georgia (now – the Department of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine
of the Tbilisi State Medical University). The data regarding his biography
and scientific, teaching and social activities are presented.
