V. Burakovsky was an outstanding cardiosurgent, world-wide famouse
scientist, one of the founders of modern cardiosurgery. He graduated the
Tbilisi State Medical Institute in 1946. He was awarded with a great
number of State rewards, among which were: State Prize (1979), Lenin Prize
(1976), Hero of Socialist Labour (1982), Honoured Scientist. For his
outstanding intput into the development of cardiovascular surgery he was
rewarded with Bakulev Prize posthumous. The Institute of Cardio-Surgery
was called after him, when he died. The
staff of the Bakulev Scientific and Research Institute of Cardio-Vaskular
Surgery, headed by Acad. Burakovsky since 1966, adopted and spread
humanizm and generosity. He, himself was emotionally generous, and his
inner power and dedication to his work were a simbol of human dignity and
love of mankind for all his collegues. |
