The First Turkish-Georgian Cardiology Congress "Modern Aspects of Interventional Cardiology" 

    

The first Turkish-Georgian Cardiology Congress "Modern Aspects of Interventional Cardiology" was held in Tbilisi on November 2, 2002. The Congress was opened by Prof. Dr. A. Gamkrelidze - the Minister of the Labour, Public Health and Social Mainttanance Ministry of Georgia. Acad. G. Chapidze - the director of the Emergency Cardiology Center addressed the participants of the Congress.

The first session was co-chaired by Prof. Dr. V. Chumburidze - the President of the Georgian Cardiology Society, and Prof. Dr. A. Oto, the President of the Turkish Cardiology Society. The reports of Prof. V. Chumburidze, Prof. B. Kobulia, Prof. H. Kultursay and Dr. R. Tataradze were presented at the session. The second session was co-chaired by Prof. A. Aladashvili and Prof. I. Dindar. The speakers were Prof. A. Oto, Prof. A. Aladashvili, Prof. O. Engene, Dr. N. Dolidze, Dr. M. Sahin.

The participants gave a high apraisal to the reports presented at the Congress; the exchange of experience and knowledge on the important problems of cardiology, and active assistance rendered by the medical society of Turkey. The perspectives of the future co-operation were outlined.
