Goal. The aim of this investigation was to study the right ventricular tissue Doppler parameters in normal persons.

Material and methods.  We investigated from 6 to 82 year old, 207 normal persons, 94 female and 113 male. Right ventricular systolic and diastolic velocities at tricuspid annulus were acquired in apical four-chamber views at the junction of the right ventricular free wall and the anterior leaflet of the tricuspid valve, using Doppler tissue imaging.

Results. The mean of maximal velocity for S1 was 21,08±5,97, for S2 - 19,59±3,93, for E - 20,98±4,10 and for A - 19,02±5,80 sm/sec. The difference between male and female was not significant. The E/A ratio in 27,54% of normal persons was less then 1. The frequency of E/A<1 was greater in older persons. In 20-30 year persons it’s frequency was 2,5%, in 31-40 year persons – 17,65%, in 41—50 - 33,31%, in more then 50 year persons - 89,19%.

Conclusion. The results of our study can be use in clinical practice. The changes of right ventricular TD parameters with age are more prominent and begins in younger persons then left ventricular TD values.
