Conference of the Georgian

On October 9-10, 2003, in Tbilisi, in the conference hall
of Georgian Academy of Sciences a conference of the Georgian Association
for Atherosclerosis was organized. The conference dealt with "Urgent
Issues of Diagnostics of Atherosclerosis and its Therapy", dedicated to
the anniversary of academician Nodar Kipshidze, the founder of the
Georgian Association for Atherosclerosis, honored science worker. The
Conference was held at the aegis of the Georgian Association for
Atherosclerosis, Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of
Georgia, Scientific-Research Institute of Clinical and Experimental
Therapy of the National Center of Therapy - the members of the
International Association for Atherosclerosis. The Conference presented the basics of the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis, risk factors of atherosclerosis, modern principles of diagnostics and treatment of ischemic diseases of heart, diagnostics and treatment of atherosclerosis of brain feeding and peripheral vascular system. A theme discussed at the round table was modern problems of therapy of atherosclerosis by statines. Simultaneously with the Conference, on October 7-11 the seminars were conducted at the National Center of Therapy. Seminars dealt with the themes: "Diagnostics of Vascular Diseases of the Central Nervous System and Mechanisms of Control, Starting From the Initial Rings of Health Institutions to the Specialized Centers", "Prevention of Ischemic Diseases of Heart in the Initial Health Institutions", "Scientific Bases of Modification of Risk Factors of Cardio Vascular Diseases". More than 500 physicians took part in the Conference. |
