On October 3-4, 2003 the 2nd Congress of
Georgian Radiologists was held under the aegis of of the Georgian
Association of Radiology, Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Public Health
of Georgia, I. Jhavakhishvili State University, Institute of Radial and
Interventive Diagnostic of the Academy of Sciences of Georgia. The venue
of the Congress was the Large Auditorium of the Tbilisi State Medical
University.
Around 500 physicians participated in the Congress, together with
Georgian scientists, leading specialists from Russia, the Ukrain,
Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Great Britain,
Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and USA took part in the work of the Congress.
Following aspects of modern radiology were discussed implementation of
new technologies; conventional and interventional radiology, irradiation
therapy. In more than 70 presentations modern approaches to diagnostics
and treatment of different system pathologies were discussed.
Prof. R. Reinmuller, Prof. V. Novitsky and Prof. V. Golish addressed the
participants then the Award of the Albert Sweitzers Society "The
Honorary Cross and Star" was handed to Prof. F. Todua, the President of
the Georgian Association of Radiology; our colleagues A. A Bant
(Belgium), A. Ciezze (Italy), R. Reinmuller (Austria), K. Straufenberg
(Germany), F. Denen (Belgium), P. Paracels (Belgium) and S. Ternovoy, A.
Ivanitsky and B. Alekian (Russia). |
