On July 10-17, 2004 an International Scientific and Practical Conference, dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Young Scientifics Society (YSS) was held in Kobuleti. Together with foreign scientists, Prof. R. Kurashvili, who was one of the initiator of the YSS foundation and other specialists who supported its foundation, took active part in the work of the Conference. Together with wide-scale medical topics discussed, following scientific and practical workshops were held: - “Evidence-based medicine and Modern Research Methods:, coordinator Prof. A. Telia – Director of the Clinical and Experimental Medicine of the Tbilisi State Medical University, Director of the Asthma, Aerologic and Clinical Immunology University Center. - “New technologies in medicine” – coordinator Dr. A. Papitashvili, Head of the Medical Division, association of Sciences and Specialists of Georgia. Following programs of CME for the participants and regional physicians were presented: - “Diagnosis and Treatment of Acute Abdomen in Children” – coordinator Dr. G. Davitaia; - “Urgent Problems of Sepsology and their Management” – coordinator Dr. M. Gigauri; - “Cardial Arrhythmias; Principles of Atrial Fibrillation Management. Management of Supraventricular Paroxysmal Tachycardia” – coordinator Dr. G. Abuladze; - Modern Aspects of Prevention, Diagnostics and Management of Cardiomyopathies” – coordinator Dr. M. Rogava.
