Key words: endogenous digitalis-like factor, heart failure, skinned myocardial fiber.

The aim of work was to obtain endogenous peptide fraction from myocardial ventricle and atria and to investigate its influence on contractile protein system – on the ability of skinned myocardial fibers (SMF) to generate force.

Myocardial peptide fraction, which was obtained from atria, in small doses (10-6 – 10-3 mg/ml) increases, but in high doses (1 and 3 mg/ml) decreases the ability of SMF to generate force.

In case of peptide fraction obtained from ventricle the ability of SMF to generate force is depressed in vivo, as well as in vitro.
